After walking around the Mustang Flea market in Clearwater for a while; I finally found a boardgame for sale! Here’s how this went down:
Me: How much for the board game?
Haggard Man: Ten dollars.
Me: For a board game?
Haggard: Well this is vintage- I sold one earlier for $10.
Me: Sir, I literally own about 500 board games, and I don’t pay over $2-3 for each one. Yours is not special from the others.
Haggard: How about $2, then?
(I give him the money) Sheesh! Haven’t played this one yet, either. Super excited to, though- this was the game I tried to buy from that record store and they were like, nothing on the wall is for sale. Eff that noise!!!

Ah, that death stare, the red nose, that passive content-with-the-world smile. This dude’s drunk. And so goes the purpose behind Frank Bresee’s Exciting Adult Game, Pass-out!
This oldie (1962) is laid out in a Monopoly-fashion, with an outer sidewalk of squares that each detail an action. There are also cards in the manner of Community Chest and Chance, being Pink Elephant and Pass-Out cards. I haven’t played this game yet because I’m not a lush. Also my kidneys would have me pay for it later. Also, I’m not a lush. It’s a fun, kitschy game, though! The only thing missing from this game is an ID tag for when you get alcohol poisoning and your friends roll you out in front of a hospital and a bucket for vomiting.
And, being from 1962, I can only image what songs were blaring in the background when people were getting their drink on. Monster Mash (no. 35), really!?

Love this tshirt design from Glennz, found at Threadless. I don’t see that it’s for sale, on that page, but I just love the construction workers doin’ their thing on the giant jenga. Yes, I want this shirt. Yes, I want you to buy it for me. Not joking.
Full image below. Many of Glennz’s designs have also made it to print- awesome!

So a couple weeks ago, while staying in the seventh circle of hell (Dunedin- god it’s hot there!!), I got up at 7:40 to hit up some flea markets. Let me tell you; I am hooked! The 49ers Flea market in Clearwater is amazing! I just knew I’d find some board games, and I did! Here’s a quick map of its location:
So, amid the old post cards, the 100-year-old hand written recipes for lemon cake (I KNOW!) and the thousands of oldies records (I KNOWWWW!); I found some sweet board games. Unfortunately, I also found some I already owned, but I still made out like bandit. Check out my finds: Stocks and Bonds, Goren’s Bridge for Two (an MB product), Sequence, and Probe. Now I already own Probe, but I have a different year and version, so it’s ok to duplicate. I haven’t played Stocks and Bonds, yet because it seems really confusing. However, I have planed the HELL out of some Sequence!!! More info in another post. Right now I’m carless, but I intend to start making it to some of the flea markets here in Orlando. I’m so addicted that I’d been driving back to Clearwater just to go to the 49er!

So, one of my new favorite games (sorry, Girl Talk, you didn’t make the cut!) is Kill Dr Lucky. It’s a sweet game of trying to kill an old man while your opponents foil your plan with counter cards like ‘You forget what you’re doing and walk away.’ Dr Lucky first hit gamers’ tables with a cheapass version you could print and play at home, and the site has tons more! You can order any of their 2-3$ games, or click on the image below to check out some FREE ones! Enjoy!

These are huge! Each of discs is the size of my palm and made from weather resistant foam. You set this up in your yard and play with visitors, how fun? The only thing though, who wants to play Connect 4. I hate that game, it’s so frustrating to me. I always think I’m doing well and then bam, oh yeah…forgot about that side of the board that’s ALL your color. Eff.
Found this at the local Pier 1 for an affordable $10 (clearance).
